Sri Lankan Crab Curry
An authentic Sri Lankan-style crab curry. This dish is well known throughout the Island nation and throughout the world. It is a spicy curry made from crab and tamarind that goes well with rice. A must-try for seafood lovers.
- 1 lb Small whole Blue crabs
- 1/4 cup Coconut oil
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 oz White onion chopped
- 2 whole Pandan leaves
- ½ tsp Mustard seeds
- ½ tsp Cumin powder
- ½ tsp Fennugreek seed
- ½ tsp Jaffna curry powder
- ½ tsp Roasted curry powder
- ½ tsp Fennel seed
- ½ tsp Paprika
- 3 whole Cloves
- 1/2 medium Sliced Tomato
- 1 tsp Cooking tamarind
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Water
Add oil, onion and ginger-garlic paste to pan on medium heat
Add pandan and curry leaves to pan and mix 2 mins
Add spices mix for 2 mins
Add tomato mix for 2 mins
Add whole Crabs to pan and mix
Add salt and water and cook for 10 minutes
Add Coconut milk
