Calamari Curry

Very popular Sri Lankan-style calamari dish cooked with coconut milk and selective ingredients. A unique flavor profile gives way to a delicious taste! Perfect with string hoppers or rice.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 oz White onion chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seed
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel seed
  • 1/4 tsp Fenugreek Seed
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Meat curry powder
  • 1/2 medium Tomato sliced
  • 2 whole Pandan leaves
  • 1 whole Curry leaves
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 8 oz Calamari rings defrosted (whole rings)
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Coconut milk (can or powder)

Instructions
 

  • Add oil, onion and spices to pan on med heat
  • Add tomato and mix
  • Add curry leaves, pandan and salt and mix
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and mix
  • Add calamari and mix together for 2 mins
  • Add water and let cook for 5 mins
  • Add coconut milk
